Basin Closure & Liner Installation
SBX completed the closure and lining of two Boiler Cleaning Waste Basins under a compressed outage schedule. The project required coordinated sediment removal, water management, and precision liner installation to maintain plant operations and meet regulatory requirements.
Our Client required the removal of accumulated sediment from two unlined Boiler Cleaning Waste Basins followed by installation of a 60-mil HDPE liner prior to scheduled boiler maintenance. SBX executed the work in phases to manage standing water, condition saturated sediment, and prepare subgrade surfaces for liner deployment.
Temporary dewatering systems, sediment conditioning, and verification sampling were used to ensure all impacted material was removed and the subgrade met liner specifications. Liner installation included anchor trench construction, fusion and extrusion welding, and full QA/QC testing of all seams and penetrations. Final grading and site restoration were completed following installation. The project was delivered ahead of schedule with zero safety incidents, allowing plant maintenance activities to proceed without delay.
