SBX excavated bottom ash from an active ash pond and transported material to an on-site monofill constructed for permanent disposal. Excavation was performed from the perimeter berm using long-reach equipment, with material staged for gravity dewatering prior to haul. Moisture content was verified in the field to meet placement requirements, and ash was placed and compacted in controlled lifts.
Concurrently, SBX repaired liners, armored drainage channels, installed sediment basins, stabilized berms, and completed extensive erosion control and revegetation. The project required coordination across excavation, earthwork, and environmental controls and was completed safely under live site conditions.
